Want to go to University but don't feel ready: A gap year may be for you!!

Why Take a Gap Year?

A gap year has become increasingly popular for young people who are about to begin or have just finished university. You’ve been in education all your life, and let’s face it: you’re tired. Why not go on the holiday of a lifetime?

You can climb a mountain in Vietnam, help build a school in Cambodia, trek around an ancient ruin in Peru, or even get some valuable work experience in the UK.

Nowadays, employers value unique experience in their employees. Someone who’s learned a language, experienced different cultures and different perspectives, dedicated months of their lives to a charity, or worked towards their career ambitions.

Gap Year Inspirations:

Your gap year has the potential to be one of the most exhilarating periods of your life, to be cherished for years to come. However, you may be stuck for ideas on what to do.We've compiled a list of some of our favourite places we have travelled, most exciting activities we have done and a wish list of where we want to explore to provide you with inspiration:

Natural Sights1. Iceland:To see the Northern Lights is on many people's bucket lists. Iceland is one of the prime countries where people travel for the chance to view the mesmerising and colourful aurora. The Northern Lights can also be spotted whilst visiting snowy areas of Canada and Alaska, or northern regions of Scandinavia.

2. Belize: For a country that most people know very little about, Belize certainly has a lot to say for itself. With the world's second largest barrier reef, islands such as Caye Caulker and Ambergis Caye (regularly voted as some of the best in the world) and the Great Blue Hole, which is considered by many to be one of the most stunning natural wonders of the world, this Central American country's relative obscurity should not be held against it. See where Belize fares in our Top 10 Geological Wonders of the World.

3.Philippines It is commonly argued that the Philippines is home to some of the most serene beaches across the globe. If you're lucky enough to visit the Southeast Asian country constituting of over 7,000 islands, be sure to stop off at Puka Beach in Boracay, and El Nido in Palawan.
